Physical therapy schools primarily teach you the clinical aspects of therapy, rehabilitation and skills to help people get better and recover from their ailments. What is lacking in the school curriculum is how to market your physical therapy practice and how to run your business.

Your physical therapy degree will not tell you how to get patients to come see you. Physical therapy degree programs don’t provide the entry-level physical therapist with the proper skills to make their clinic successful. Getting good results with your patients is an important part of your clinical practice but marketing your clinic is equally as important and needs to be developed as much as the clinical side of the business.

It is important to market your physical therapy practice, whenever possible and make the time each week to develop marketing strategies and implement the marketing plans. In doing so, you will at least keep people informed and increase the exposure of your clinic within the community.

I am disenchanted by the contemporary high school and I believe we can do better. Schools are so antiquated in many ways, so lacking in the kind of community that exists in some small towns or schools around the province. While our large urban schools meet the needs of some students, for too many they are vast spiritless places where far too many students are unhappy. Some students say they are bored, some feel like outsiders, some feel intimidated and most sense a disconnect between the school and the real world. They go through the paces because they understand there is no option if they want to get ahead. Too many fall through the cracks and drop out.

I have a recurring dream of a post-modern high school. My visions are about schools with close-knit, caring communities, schools structured in radically innovative frameworks, schools founded on relevant new curricula and where social justice and equity permeate all aspects of the school. There is a need for alternatives that are based on thinking outside the box.

Being a student can be both great fun and an extremely stressful time of your life. For many young people its a time of new beginnings – learning how to operate independently of the family home they have new freedoms but also new responsibilities. Students have the difficult task of not only learning how to budget and manage finances – usually for the first time in their lives, but also having to deal with unpredictable income and expenses.

Student debt is a fact of life for many college students – but you should never let debt control your actions. You need to take control and manage your debt proactively. First off debt should be your final choice – not your first option. Going into debt can mean paying for your education for many long years. Getting a part-time job or even dropping your study load to part-time may be a better option.

The path to securing a loan in the world of today is no longer fraught with barriers of all kinds.

More and more groups of people are now turning to the world of loans to take care of bills that appear insurmountable in the short term. Of course, one’s attitude towards a loan will be of utmost importance. When applying for a loan, one must seriously think about whether one will definitely be able to repay it on time.
